Yankee Doodle went to town, A-riding on a pony. Stuck a feather in his cap and called it "macaroni." Why on earth would Yankee Doodle call his feather "macaroni"? The British teased the americans(Yankees) when they tried to be fasionable durin the Revolutionary War Period.
